If you want to get ahead of everybody else, you have to be willing to do anything that will get you there. Everything takes work. If you want to be successful, you’re going to have to work at it, but that doesn’t mean it has to be hard. Thinking big is the perfect example of this!
It Takes the Same Time and Energy, But Very Different Results
Creating a reality that’s many levels above everyone else isn’t going to cost you any more time than the reality you’re currently creating. All you need is the same 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that you already have.
Think of it like watching television. Whether you’re viewing a light-hearted comedy or an intense drama, your TV is using the same amount of energy. In the same way, thinking big and thinking small will cost you an identical amount of energy.
Don’t Waste Time Sweating the Small Stuff
If you want results, you need activity. Where does activity start? It starts in your fundamental belief system about reality. When you think big, you’re not going to spend time thinking about little things. Instead, you’ll have a big goal that you’re excited about. You’ll be able to put smaller things in perspective.
This is like what Stephen R. Covey says in his book 7 habits of Highly Effective People. He warns readers not to get caught up in “the thick of thin things.” Thinking big means not wasting time or energy focusing on the little stressors in life that tie others down.
Know the Difference Between Daydreaming and Thinking Big
Thinking big isn’t the same as fantasizing. While fantasizing is passive daydreaming, thinking big is thinking actively. It’s planning and observing opportunities around you. It’s the kind of thinking that contributes to your success down the line.
Small Thoughts Lead to Small Actions. Big Thoughts Lead to Success!
Too many people make the mistake of thinking that thoughts are a fluid motion. But thoughts aren’t fluid. They’re active. What’s going through your head will eventually show up in your actions. When you’re thinking small, you’ll achieve small.
This is one of the many reasons why achievement isn’t just luck. One thing that every successful person has in common is the ability to think big. This is true not just before you succeed but after you succeed too. Your success will naturally degrade with time unless you’re being intentional. The way to stop it is by actively reinforcing and building on your success.
Start Thinking Big
The first step to achieving big is thinking big! Take some time to contemplate what your next big goal is. This is how you can put active thinking into practice!
